Cosmetic Injectables
Cosmetic injectables are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This may be achieved with the following methods:
- Adding volume directly to fine lines and wrinkles
- Reducing muscle contractions, which cause dynamic wrinkles and folds
- Stimulating the natural production of collagen for long-term volume improvement
Types of Fillers & Injectables
We offer two types of cosmetic injectables used for the treatment of aging at Central Carolina Dermatology. They include:
- Neuromodulators – BOTOX® and Dysport® relax muscle contractions to smooth the skin.
- Hyaluronic acid formulations (Dermal Fillers) – products such as Juvéderm and Restylane® integrate hyaluronic acid, which attracts water where it is injected. This adds immediate volume that can last several months before reinjection.
Benefits of Neuromodulators
BOTOX® and Dysport® are simple non-surgical treatments to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and can also be used to prevent the lines from developing. Made from a purified protein, both can safely and successfully treat wrinkles that are caused by muscle contractions such as frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet and neck bands, giving you a refreshed, younger look.
